16 Little Portland Street started life as a cotton factory and although part of the brief involved exposing the original brickwork, reworking the ceiling to increase the height and expose the wooden beams, nobody realised that hidden behind previous refurbishments we’d also find the old turning wheel braces.
As well as the labour intensive strip out and restoration of original charm, the project entailed applying intumescent paint to the beams and steels, fitting new flooring, a new window and front door plus installing comfort cooling, a new kitchen, WC’s and shower rooms.
